Orgatec 2006: hall 2 and 3

As customary, a few days after the end of the Cologne event, the Editorial office of OfficeBit.com presents the latest Orgatec 2006 products by way of the ‘usual promenade’ through the four large hall exhibiting the international production of office furniture.

After the articles devoted to hall 10 and 11, the ‘virtual itinerary’ ends with hall 2 and 3.

Alparda is a Turkish company with forty years’ experience in the office furniture sector. The company presented the Arc range at Orgatec. The range is quite amazing, as it is characterized by light and rounded lines. It is entirely made of wood and consists of desks, side desks, meeting tables (rectangular and round), cabinets, consoles and chests of drawers for prestigious and detailed furnishings.

The choice of chair load bearing structures is getting bigger: they are sleigh shaped, with four legs, coffee chairs, tall stools, on bars. The range of versions and widths allows using them in different furnishing contexts, both in public and more private areas. Gubi‘s catalogue now also includes the ‘worktop’ Gos III, which is available with a wired backbone that can be inspected and that is placed at the centre of the worktop.

Holzmedia is one of very few manufacturers to have fitted monitors inside technological service trolley structures. One simple movement allows in fact lifting the video, which would be otherwise hidden behind the thick accessory that can be shifted close to the desk or to the meeting table. 15″, 17″ and 19″ models are available. The standard X5 Monitor Modul version is painted in different colours. It is also available with a veneered surface as well.

A patented automatic block mechanism guarantees great stability to the bendable legs of the Delgado table by Kusch+Co. It is stackable and can be carried around using a special platform that has been specifically designed for that purpose. The oval tubular structure is powder varnished with glitter or satin finishes.

Swedish brand Lammhults is distributed in Italy by Rapsel. Campus is a chair-armchair. The product is particularly suitable for conference rooms and classrooms. It can be fitted with a small board and linked to the others through a special structure. It is stackable and available in different colours, with or without armrests. It can be made of wood or upholstered with fabric.

A 3 metre large pouf positioned on either side dominates Nurus stand. The flexible units by U Too can be used in waiting areas and in more domestic interiors, also thanks to different colours and special elements, such as the chessboard and the backgammon board, which one can use to play at more informal times. The Turkish company is preparing to celebrate eighty years through increasing its business turnover, which extends to over 30 countries.

Kimono is the new stackable upholstered armchair by Bartoli Design for Segis. The structure is a high resistance steel tube. It is available with a chrome-plated or epoxy powder varnished finish. The frame is made of non-deforming polyurethane foam and it is flame retardant, while the armrests are made of soft polyurethane. It is upholstered in fabric, leather or imitation leather, and also comes with a number of accessories: a document holder, an anti panic board-desk and a built-in hooking system.
