Knight Capital Group, Inc. is a leading ?nancial services ?rm that provides electronic and voice access to the capital markets across multiple asset classes. For its London’s branch facility, the company comissioned the interior design project to MCM Architecture, one of Europe’s leading workplace design practices focusing on creating effective and innovative working environments.

The project involved the fourth floor of the City Place House in London. The overall area has been split in two: the left wing, consisting of an inviting open space, hosts the management offices and the meeting rooms, whereas the right wing, separated by a fire door, is meant for staff only. In the right wing, the numerous desks and computer monitors are disposed in a way to ensure tranquility and privacy to the finance technicians at work.

The reception area is set in a wide and luminous hall and connects smoothly the two distinguished environments. The meeting rooms, disposed in a sequence along the U-shaped corridor, are separated by Nordwall’s Luce mobile partitions. The light coming through the glass creates a subtle, playful effect between the blind modules and the see-through doors while champagne-coloured anodized profiles add a special touch and match just perfectly.

Sober atmosphere, absolute insulation, and accuracy in selecting the furniture combined with ergonomic criteria applied to the space division create a peaceful and serene atmosphere, critical for a financial firm like Knight.

A sense of sobriety, accoustic insulation, selected top furniture quality, ergonomic organization of space, all combined to form a great place to work for top-notch and sophisticated financial services professionals and their customers.
