The “DS5” 50 storey high tower in Canary Wharf is fitted out with Faram P500 partitions to a standard height of 2750mm and 3600mm on the dealing floors. As the last few floors are being fitted out, the client has introduced the P700 frameless structural glazing system with single glazed doors as a variation to the other floors. As well as keeping the live deflection loading of +/- 45mm, all components have been designed so they are interchangeable with the existing fitted out floors, whilst offering a more open look with different graphic signage. The P700 system utilises 2 layers of 10mm toughened glass, jointed with the Faram Luxwall polycarbonate extrusions in order to achieve a frameless appearance. The glass manifestation is applied to the inner layer to the customer’s design, and in this case room signage is incorporated as a negative cut out making each room individually personalized.
