Barclays Bank
The latest 42 storey “BP1” tower in Canary Wharf is Barclays Bank plc’s new Headquarters Building, housing 6000 employees. After an extensive selection process, the Pringle Brandon plc recommended the use of the Faram Fra’Tino platform range as the best tool for the new open plan concept implemented by the Bank. The client has achieved a quality environment coupled with the flexibility of use that the product inherently offers. As the platform lengths are standardized on the building footprint, tops were produced in the unusually long length of 3.2 metres. This minimized joints between tops, and consequently allowed for maximum flexibility when changing density of users on the platform. It was important for Barclays to have a solution that allowed repositioning of key components like power sockets and CPU cradles quickly and effectively. This was achieved by using Fra’Tino’s multifunctional aluminium extrusion, which serves a dual purpose of support structure and sliding attachment for all accessories. Accessories provided were: shelf, stacking paper tray, desktop power, articulated CPU, and signage. All of these are easily repositioned by the user.
